JOB OVERVIEW:
An experienced accountant at manufacturing or mining industry is responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role involves analyzing financial data, managing budgets, and assisting with financial planning and strategy. The accountant will work closely with other departments to support overall business operations and contribute to the financial health of the company.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:   
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are highly desirable.
 
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:    
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial company is preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.


  JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software: Knowledge of software such as Accurate, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial records and reports.
  • Knowledge of GAAP: Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong English Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies or financial issues.
  • Time Management: Efficiently managing multiple tasks and deadlines.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  2. General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee and manage the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  3. Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
  4. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage and process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  5. Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and support internal and external audits.
  6. Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and variance analysis to support manufacturing operations.
  7. Tax Preparation and Filing: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  8. Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and strategic planning.
  9. Inventory Management: Work with the production team to manage inventory accounting and valuation.
  10. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting.
